Data engineering aims to make raw data useful to data scientists and to organizations by building pipelines for data collection, storage, analysis, and deployment. It encompasses several fields, e.g., systems engineering and database administration. This course will introduce students to Data Engineering. They will learn concepts on data modeling, data architectures, data warehousing, and data pipelining. This is a very hands-on course, and students will learn by doing. By the end of the course, students should have created an end-to-end data pipeline on the cloud.
