MAKATI, Philippines – On 9 March 2024, the Asian Institute of Management’s (AIM) Aboitiz School of Innovation, Technology, & Entrepreneurship (ASITE) hosted an Open House to welcome aspiring students to its programs, namely: the Master in Entrepreneurship (ME), Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS), Master in Innovation and Business (MIB), and Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Business Administration – Bachelor of Business Administration Major in Management Information Systems (BSDSBA & BBA, MIS).
The event was structured into three main segments: a plenary session, masterclasses for each program, and on-the-spot entrance exams and interviews for those who are keen on joining the programs.
ASITE School Head, Prof. Christopher P. Monterola, PhD, opened the event by highlighting the significant milestones achieved over the years. He emphasized that the community was established seven years ago with the primary objective of preparing leaders for the challenges and opportunities presented by Industry 4.0 – the era of data.
On the other hand, AIM Career Services Director, Lucille Jade L. Galvan, delved into the practices employed by the Career Services Office to ensure that every graduate secures their desired job. She also shared the career opportunities and potential earnings awaiting AIM graduates, drawing insights from the alumni’s successes.
Four exclusive masterclasses provided participants with a glimpse of life as AIM students. Mr. Masaki Mitsuhashi, AIM Adjunct Faculty member, led the Design Thinking class for the MIB program; Prof. Eric O. Caeg, ME Academic Program Director, conducted a session on Professionalizing Family Business for the ME program; Prof. Erika Fille T. Legara, PhD, MSDS Academic Program Director, addressed the topic of Driving Innovation: Aligning Analytics, People, and Goals for the MSDS program; and Prof. Michelle P. Banawan, PhD, BSDSBA & BBA, MIS Academic Program Director, centered her session on Data Stories.
Decided applicants took the entrance exam and engaged in interviews shortly after the masterclasses. They were also able to enjoy the special program rates for attending the event.
Overall, almost 100 individuals participated in this school year’s ASITE Open House, marking it as a successful and insightful event for the institution and the aspiring students.
